One of the things on my bucket list is to visit the highest point in every state. My Dad and I were each close to finding our 500th geocache and we decided we wanted #500 to be the cache at the highest point in Florida.
Britton Hill is located in Lakewood, Florida, just South of the Alabama line and is the highest natural point in Florida.
At a whopping 345 feet it’s the lowest high point of all 50 States.
Dad and I wandered down the hill to find a cache hidden in the woods and let me tell you – it was quite a hike getting back up that hill.
If you live anywhere else this would not be considered a hill. More like a slight upward slope.
They have a pretty little park where we had a picnic lunch and enjoyed the view.
Well, look at that. A check mark on my bucket list.
