It snowed in Destin! Not sleet, a flake or flurries. Snow, actual snow.
It can get cold here in the Florida panhandle. We even got an ice storm a few years back but nothing like this.
At first, I just watched out the window. There were actual snowflakes falling but I assumed they would be gone within an hour.

But then, Florida got confused and believed we were in parts far north of here and it really started snowing.

I wonder if people who live where it snows all of the time sit, looking out the window and giggling like the village idiot. I do know that everyone from around here seemed to be doing that all day.
It snowed and snowed and snowed.

My oldest son and I went out to play in it for a while and marvel at how much snow was accumulating. I would never in a million years have thought that my street would look like this.

When I was in Boulder it snowed, and my daughter’s dog LOVED the snow. They even showed a montage on the news that night showing all the dogs playing in the snow.
My dog walked out in it before the ground was completely covered, sniffed around and then looked at me like I was playing some mean trick on him.

He stood by the door, sad and apparently feeling like I was abusing him. He came back inside and wouldn’t go out again, especially once the ground was completely covered.
Obviously, Blueberry does NOT like snow.
Troy had to go to work so he sent pictures of Harborwalk Village and the Emerald Grande.

The snow stayed on the ground all night and late through the next night.

Even our little snowman was still alive the next night.

If I hadn’t lived through it, I would swear these pictures were all generated by AI.

But they were not. It snowed in Destin!
