We’ve been catching all kinds of stuff in our crab traps, but I think this Puffer Fish must be the coolest yet.
They have beautiful green eyes and true to their name will puff up like a balloon.


I’ve read that certain parts of the meat are considered a delicacy in Japan, but it has to be prepared by a chef who knows exactly which parts can be eaten and even then, the portions must be limited to prevent sickness.
We don’t eat them. We admire them for a moment and then back into the Bay they go.
