Just to the east of Crestview is a small, family-owned zoo. The Emerald Coast Zoo.
This small zoo offers a wonderful opportunity to get an up close and personal look at their animals.
Tortoises, chickens, roosters, and peacocks wander freely around the property.
We really enjoyed feeding the goats, donkeys, llamas, and emus. Until a llama spit on my son and he decided that he was not a fan of llamas at all.
They have an amazing collection of birds; some of whom will eat birdseed off popsicles stick you hold.

They have parrots also but they aren’t always nice so the public can’t feed them.

This is the coolest little zoo I have ever been to. Hand feeding the animals and having them wander around our feet as we walked around was magical.

All of the animals appeared healthy and well cared for. The employees are really enjoyed being there and surrounded by the animals.

Being a small zoo, the keepers and animals really get to bond, and it is obvious watching them interact, they love these animals.

The Emerald Coast Zoo also offers one-on-one animal encounters.
You can feed penguins, sloths, or a bear. Hang out with a kangaroo, feed a hyena, or let a snake slither around your shoulders.
We had so much fun, and I hope to go back again soon.
